Job Summary

The Indian Navy has appointed AECOM as the project management consultant for its prestigious Project Seabird – Phase IIA. The largest naval infrastructure project for India, it involves creation of a naval base at Karwar on the west coast of India. Upon completion, this $3 billion program and effort will provide the Indian Navy with its largest naval base on the west coast and also the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.

During the decade-long project, AECOM will manage and oversee the planning, design, contracting, construction and acceptance of the entire works, including construction of a new Naval Air Station.

AECOM is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. The responsibilities for this role shall include but not limited to the following

·         Preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems.
·         Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents
·         Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction inspections, and responding to client requests
·         Work within a project team environment
·         Maintain and organize all project related documentation
·         Coordinate work with other project disciplines
·         Plan and organize work that follows a defined process
·         Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client and industry standard practices 
Minimum Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
·         Masters in project management.
·         The candidate should have 4-6 years of experience in project management.
·         Ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local building codes
·         Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing

·         Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
·         Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques
